Taking the weekend off. Excited to be on the other side of the camera celebrating the wedding of two of my very favorite people.
God help the fine people of Chicago. See you on the flip side.

new pricing + a sweet deal.
Ok, the website isn't completely finished and ready. But, I promised myself I would have my new pricing worked out by July 1. The new pricing is up... go to the site and check it out.
BUT WAIT... there's more.
If you book your family or senior shoot before the end of July (to be shot before December 31, 2010), I will hook you up.
You can take $50 off of the family rate and $100 off the senior photo rate ($200 off of the wedding rate)... it doesn't get any better than that!
Fall is the perfect time to do senior photos and holiday cards... why not get it on your calendar now?
Go to mollyconnor.com and then email or call me before the end of July to get on the calendar and save yourself a little dough.
Also, stay tuned for the new site in the next week or two.
There's going to be all new photos, testimonials and other cool stuff.
While it's still in development stages, here's a little hint of where it's heading.

sisters.
a blonde ran an errand...
mason + cash.
My new friend Jen(n)* had me over to take a few shots of her darling boys this evening. Of course, it was sunny all day and (literally) the minute I walked out the door for our shoot, it started pouring. In fact, it was raining so hard that I had to pull over on the highway. And if you know me, you know I'm not a pull over type of girl. I was hoping that the rain would pass and we'd have some good overcast weather to deal with. No such luck. We were able to sneak a few outside shots in, but we made due inside.
*We're such new friends that I don't know if she's a Jen or a Jenn. LOL.
I'm proposing a mulligan when we have some nicer weather because these boys are too cute NOT to have a million photos of.

cord camera + good service.
Today, I received an email from a manager at Cord Camera regarding my experience at their store on Sunday.
I spoke with him this morning and he could not have been nicer or more professional. He apologized for my negative experience in his store and I apologized for my being too critical on my blog. While my blog is a forum for showcasing my work and sharing my opinion, it is really not my style to bash other businesses. That's not good business on MY part.
Customer service goes a long way with me and I would like to go on record that in the end, Cord went above and beyond to address my specific situation. That's good business.
Thank you, Mike. I appreciate you reaching out to me. Please accept this apology on my end.

meg + her new 5D.
Tonight, I met my good friend (and fellow photog), Meg Miller, out for dinner and a glass of wine. She is both lovely and talented. This past weekend, she got the camera that I have been coveting FOREVER and I wanted to test it out. Who wouldn't want some pics with such a gem of a camera... so I offered to shoot some for her. But in my infinite wisdom, I forgot MY camera. Brilliant.
So, we made due with my little, brown, chipped up Canon Powershot.
I really dig this chick... and her bad ass camera. And, not too shabby for my old school camera.
P.S. If I get hit by a truck, you're totally allowed to call her for pics. Otherwise, you're all mine :).

cord camera + bad business.
So, yesterday, in my quest to make some homemade notecards, I went to Cord Camera to utilize their scrapbook section. Those of you who know me know that I am a VERY loyal Roberts Camera shopper and wouldn't dare buy any camera equipment from anyone other than those rock stars. But here's how the story went down:
I went to Cord. I gathered up the (non-photography) supplies that I needed and completed my $26 transaction. When I finished, I realized that I was the only customer in the store, so I decided to pick the associate's brain regarding some softbox studio lighting. This dude proceeds to challenge whether I'm even referring to the right thing, and when I walked him over to the aisle to show him specifically what I was asking about, he proceeded to tell me that this stuff was for "real photographers". Um. Dumbfounded, I asked again which softbox components he would recommend for the strobe lights that I have... and he said, "I don't think you understand."
At this point, the lights in the store went out. I looked at my watch and realized it was 5:00. Clearly, the store was closing. But CLEARLY I WAS STILL IN THE STORE... asking about a relatively high ticket item. The guy looked at me, looked at his watch and then looked at the door. Um.
I proceeded to tell him that I don't think HE understood and that I had spent several gazillion dollars at Roberts in the last 18 months and that I would just go there and see if they would actually answer the question I was asking.
And then... he laughed at me. Fail.
I turned and walked to the door. Dramatically (shocking, I know). I was leaving in a fit of rage... until I got to the locked door. So, here I am... trapped in a store full of asses, being shunned, in the dark. I calmly said to the other associate (who was digging for his car keys), "In addition to being a 'real photographer', I also know that it's considered bad business to lock your customers in the store if you're going to treat them like shit. Please unlock the door."
Yay, me.
Then I got home and realized that the geniuses over charged my credit card... my card which, incidentally, says "MOLLY CONNOR PHOTOGRAPHY". Asshats.
I will be taking this up with the management and anyone who will listen this week. In summary, go to Roberts... where I was going to buy the stuff all along.
The end.

kellie + chris.
Last night, I was the second shooter (www.peterjonathanimages.com) at a lovely wedding out in Lebanon. It was a beautiful wedding and Kellie and Chris were great. What fun families! Pete and I had a great time with you guys. I'm looking forward to seeing all of his photos once they are finished. Here are a few of my photos...
The wedding party was full of Seattle-ans and they brought a monsoon with them. This is just before all hell broke loose.
Shot on behalf of Peter Jonathan Images (www.peterjonathanimages.com)
