some love for my mom.

dear mom:
thank you for being great.
XOXO,
your favorite child.

angela + jon

Angela and Jon are one of my September weddings. We got together and played around at White River State Park to do some engagement photos. I think they're great... but that might have to do with the fact that they encouraged me to boss them around. Perfect.

I can't wait until your wedding this fall. I'm really looking forward to it... you guys were great! We're going to have a blast.

mr. jones.

This is Ryan. I dig him.
His mom, Sarah, is one of my favorite people and I love that she keeps letting take photos of her kids. This shoot was to celebrate his first birthday. I can't really believe that a year has gone by with this one, but it has.

luke + jacob.

While I was doing some newborn photos of my friend Jaime's baby, Jacob, I was able to snap a few shots of my boy, Luke. Actually, the entire time I was shooting, he was telling me that I wasn't allowed to take his picture, which explains why he's basically ignoring me. However, my lens is faster than his legs, so here's the result.
Molly: 1, Luke: 0.

And, baby Jacob...
He's had a tough go of it out of the gate, but he's rallying like a rock star. He is precious. He is just so sweet. Jaime and Jeremy... well done. Love you guys.

blogging ADD and my new little studio.

It occurred to me today that maybe I'm too ADD to blog. Or at least that's the excuse I'm going to use for having sucked at it so far this year. Rest assured... I'm turning the page. I am going to commit to do some blogging (because with blogging comes wine drinking) once a week. We'll see how that goes. At least I've made up for some lost posts tonight.

So, I built a studio. It actually took a village. Jeff and Ryan did most of the work, Fred contributed some tools and Jenn provided moral support and comic relief by showing up (when there was pizza). And I paid for it. Sweet deal if you ask me.

It's small... and quaint... and still has some work to be done. But it has lights, props and a backdrop stand. If you were thinking of visiting me and staying in my guest room, you're screwed. But if you need a photo taken, you're in luck...
